Instructions

We have been learning about the importance of listening to (or reading) a step by step instruction before taking action. As a warm up for writing instructions room 7 had to follow a series of instructions in order to draw the initial monster on the slide called B5. They all did a great job of listening to each step. Pause the slideshow and take a good look at the first picture B5. Do you think room 7's monsters look like B5?

Money

We have been learning how to count money. We started by learning to count ten cent coins. We used our knowledge of skip counting in tens to help us. Here are some pic collage examples of how we used connect cubes to show how many ten cent coins make $1.

Tama the Goat

We were very excited to have a visitor at Auroa School today. Sophie's parents kindly took the time to bring in Tama the goat so Room 7 and Room 8 could meet him. We all had a turn at patting Tama to see how his fur felt. We also got to watch little Tama drink some milk out of the feeder. We can't wait to write about our experience with Tama tomorrow! Thanks again Louisa and Gareth.
